AusPost System Glitch: What You Need to Know
If you've received unexpected shipping notification emails from AusPost today, don't worry - you're not alone, and nothing is actually being shipped to you.
What's Happened?
Earlier today, a AusPost system glitch caused old shipping notifications from AusPost to be resent for orders fulfilled months or even years ago.
We started receiving messages from the #OhCrapFamily around mid-afternoon, with people understandably confused about why they were getting shipping confirmations when they hadn't placed an order. So we are writing this blog post in case you have received these emails and have questions, too.
Is This a Security Issue?
No. These are legitimate emails from AusPost - they're not phishing attempts or scams. The issue is simply that AusPost's system has mistakenly regenerated and resent old notifications.
What Should you Do?
If you haven't ordered from us in the last 1-2 days: You can safely ignore these emails. Nothing is being shipped to you.
If you placed an order recently: Your tracking information will come through as usual, and that will be the legitimate notification for your current order.
Our Apologies
We know inbox clutter is frustrating, and we're sorry you're receiving these emails. Unfortunately, this is completely outside our control - it's a system error on AusPost's end that has affected multiple businesses.
We've reached out to our logistics partner and AusPost to understand what happened and ensure it doesn't happen again.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us here.
Thanks for your understanding,
